IBM Garage™ for On-Premises and Third-party Clouds provides three new IBM Cloud® services to help organizations modernize and realize benefits, based on existing IBM Garage standard offerings, to assist them with their journey to the cloud. These services can help organizations assess their technical architecture, third-party cloud software, and achieve a solution that uses IBM Cloud services.

IBM Garage Design Thinking Workshop for On-Premises and Third-party Clouds

This service assesses the client's business problem and use cases through a design thinking workshop. This enables clients to consider building an application that leverages IBM Cloud services and other IBM® or third-party cloud solutions, including on-premises licensed software. IBM Design Thinking takes the best industry-recognized design methods, adds three core practices, and applies knowledge gained from real use cases at IBM Garage locations worldwide. These core practices include:

  • Hills
  • Sponsor users,
  • Playbacks

The outcome of the workshop is an agreed-upon hypothesis and a minimum viable product (MVP) project definition.

IBM Garage Architectural Consultancy for On-Premises and Third-party Clouds

With this service, an IBM Garage Architect provides architectural consulting, thought leadership, advice, and guidance about the structure, high-level principles, and best working practices associated with the deployment of IBM Cloud, third-party software as a service (SaaS), or on-premises licensed software at an IBM Garage or other IBM location.

IBM Garage MVP Build for On-Premises and Third-party Clouds

With this service, an IBM Garage project execution team of five or more expert consultants help an organization agree on a prioritized list of user stories to refine the scope of an MVP application. The team codevelops application artifacts that implement those user stories resulting in an MVP. The Garage MVP build deliverable is a mutually agreed-upon set of user stories and application artifacts delivered on IBM technologies. The sessions take place at an IBM Garage location or other suitable location and include the following IBM Garage team members:

  • One IBM Garage technical lead
  • Two Garage developers
  • One or more IBM Cloud, third-party SaaS, or on-premises licensed software development product consultants
  • One or more IBM Garage designers

Statement of good security practices

Top rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through intrusion prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
