Overview

Top rule

Red Hat OCP is a Red Hat enterprise Kubernetes distribution. It provides developers, IT organizations, and business leaders with a hybrid cloud application platform for developing and deploying new containerized applications on a highly secure platform.

Red Hat OCP also offers scalable resources that require minimal configuration and management. Developers can create and deploy applications by delivering a consistent environment throughout the lifecycle of the application, including development, deployment, and maintenance. The self-service capabilities and minimal maintenance requirements can help reduce the burden on IT organizations associated with deploying and maintaining application platforms.

Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation 4.7 is the first generally available version for IBM Z and LinuxONE. Clients with active Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation subscriptions are automatically entitled to the newer version of Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation.

For more information about Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, see the Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation website.

Program delivery

When Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation for IBM Z and LinuxONE is ordered from IBM, a Product Information Card document is provided by IBM Software Fulfillment. This document provides information about downloading the product from Red Hat and registering your subscription.

Note: The Product Information Card ships separately from the IBM Z and LinuxONE servers and should not be discarded or destroyed.

Support requirements

Beginning with Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation 4.8 for IBM Z and LinuxONE, subscriptions are offered with Red Hat Support. See the Production Support Terms of Service web page for details.

Previous versions of Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, including 4.6, were technology previews and were not supported with Red Hat production service level agreements (SLAs).

Statement of good security practices

Top rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through intrusion prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
