Overview
Bottom rule

PowerSC provides a trusted solution to help simplify the security and compliance administration for AIX® virtual workloads running on IBM Power Systems™ servers. PowerSC simplifies security compliance and strengthens security by providing trusted system extensions.

With this update to PowerSC Standard Edition, IBM introduces PowerSC Trusted Firewall that will provide firewall services in the VIO server virtualization layer. This gives virtual machines running on the same server the ability to communicate without having to go to an external firewall. This saves time and network resources by never going out to a physical network interface controller (NIC) or to an external firewall. The data is sent from one virtual NIC to the Trusted Firewall, which ensures proper separation of the network resource based on the rules defined by the administrator. This will reduce network consumption of resources for VM-to-VM traffic on the same server.
