Today, IBM is announcing the latest evolution of the IBM MQ Appliance — the M2003.

The IBM MQ Appliance M2003 brings together next-generation hardware and IBM MQ firmware, packed with the latest updates and designed to provide a more powerful appliance than its predecessor and secured messaging solution.

IBM MQ solutions are used by thousands of enterprises worldwide to protect their data and deliver it to the right place at the right time. Additionally, the solutions can help simplify maintenance and reduce costs while freeing space in data centers [1].

Integration is essential for supporting business growth

Today’s IT environments continue to expand at a rapid pace, with software and applications deployed across multiple clouds, data centers and architecture. In this world, exposing mission-critical assets and connecting disparate data sources is a top priority for improving visibility and supporting business transformation. Secure, scalable integration is essential for delivering new experiences, services and products to customers and for successfully implementing automation practices that optimize IT and business operations.

Banking and retail: Increased pressures from a growing digital economy

As stated by Forrester, the world of payments is becoming increasingly complex; billions of customers pay millions of firms using hundreds of payment methods [2]. In this environment, there is mounting pressure for businesses to ensure that high volumes of variable types of transactions can be processed and enacted more securely and quickly than before. Failing to meet these needs can jeopardize sensitive customer information and diminish the viability of new, digital business models being delivered to remain competitive in a fast-moving world.

Ensuring data integrity is a top priority

According to a recent report, 80% of data center managers and operators surveyed have experienced some type of outage in the past three years [3]. This stresses the importance to not only combat common causes of downtime, but also to make a swift recovery from unforeseen outages, no matter how small or large. This means businesses must take steps so that their mission-critical data is transported reliably and is always protected — both at-rest and in-flight. Businesses that protect data from loss during downtime can help shelter their bottom line from costly, debilitating outages and provide seamless experiences that customers can depend on without hesitation.

Support business growth through data availability and integrity with IBM MQ Appliance M2003

IBM has driven innovation in the MQ technology over more than 25 years in the market, continuing to provide businesses with a secured integration solution.

IBM MQ Appliance acts as a messaging center, moving messages between applications, services and systems across cloud and on-premises environments at scale. With IBM MQ, messages are protected by network encryption on the wire as they flow between applications, optional end-to-end encryption for protection and privacy of messages and newly available disk encryption to protect messages at rest while they are waiting to be transferred.

The IBM MQ Appliance M2003 is designed for the following:

  • Simple setup: IBM MQ firmware is pre-installed on dedicated, secured hardware and has a UI optimized for ease-of-use so teams can get started rapidly.
  • Maximized performance: Engineered to handle demanding high-volume workloads through greater processor power, faster storage and improved networking capacity, compared to previous IBM MQ Appliances.
  • Business resiliency: Easily create a highly available, resilient architecture for access to message data in the event of unexpected outages.
  • Cost efficiency: Simplify your estate and help save on hardware and maintenance costs by reducing the need for teams to spend time installing, patching or maintaining complex, multi-stack environments.
  • Data insights: Harness mission-critical data as it flows around the enterprise with streaming queues to power analytics and AI.
  • Help protect against threats: Encrypt highly sensitive and valuable business data in the stages of its journey without writing complex code or modifying applications.

Driving quality assurance through the IBM Ignite Quality Platform

4 min read - Quality Assurance (QA) is a critical component of the software development lifecycle, aiming to ensure that software products meet specified quality standards before release. QA encompasses a systematic and strategic approach to identifying, preventing and resolving issues throughout the development process. However, various challenges arise in the QA domain that affect test case inventory, test case automation and defect volume. Managing test case inventory can become problematic due to the sheer volume of cases, which lead to inefficiencies and resource…

Migrate and modernize enterprise integration using IBM Cloud Pak for Integration with Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA)

5 min read - Integration is essential to every business. As businesses consider the core of their IT infrastructure, their focus might be on their data and applications. But without integration, the data would be locked into siloes; and the applications would be isolated and overloaded with complexity as fragile, tightly coupled connections were added to allow applications to work together and share information. This impacts business agility—slowing both actions—and the ability to change.  Businesses are trying to reduce these data exchange barriers through…
