We are excited to make several new announcements from VMworld Europe that demonstrate why enterprises of all sizes continue to choose IBM Cloud.

Back in August, IBM Cloud and VMware made several announcements at VMworld US, and we have continued innovating to create solutions for a secured, enterprise-grade cloud for VMware solutions.

We are accompanied onsite at VMworld Europe by some of the nearly 2,000 clients who have chosen IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions, including Universidad Europea and Veritas. These clients are at various stages in their cloud journey, and they are all looking for a secure, simple way to migrate and modernize their VM-based apps.

  • Universidad Europea: By adopting IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions, Universidad Europea plans to upgrade and expand its virtual campus and its Europea University Online and transform its offerings to address the current demands of digitally savvy students.
  • Veritas: With IBM’s public cloud, Veritas was able to migrate with minimal downtime and adopt a hybrid cloud strategy for modernizing their mission-critical workloads, including their customer portal, website, and other backend IT systems.

Today, at VMworld Europe in Barcelona, we are making several new announcements that demonstrate why enterprises of all sizes continue to choose IBM Cloud.

IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Shared

Announcing the addition of IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Shared (IC4V Shared), available in beta. This new solution is designed to enable customers to extend their virtual machines—including IBM middleware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)—to the cloud in a managed, multi-tenant environment for ultimate capacity, flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency. This makes IBM one of the largest cloud providers to offer a managed, multi-tenant VMware solution designed for customers and partners alike. Offered alongside IBM’s existing single-tenant IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Dedicated, clients will now have more choice and control with multiple deployment models to fit their workload requirements.

Optimize observability with IBM Cloud Logs to help improve infrastructure and app performance

5 min read - There is a dilemma facing infrastructure and app performance—as workloads generate an expanding amount of observability data, it puts increased pressure on collection tool abilities to process it all. The resulting data stress becomes expensive to manage and makes it harder to obtain actionable insights from the data itself, making it harder to have fast, effective, and cost-efficient performance management. A recent IDC study found that 57% of large enterprises are either collecting too much or too little observability data.…
