It’s my pleasure to introduce IBM Cloud’s new General Manager of Delivery & Operations, Alan Peacock.
Alan is a globally recognized technology and business transformation visionary and a financial services industry veteran with a breadth of experience, a combination that will deliver significant value to clients navigating their digital transformation journeys.
For years, IBM has been fueling the transformation of the banking industry. We’ve developed strong, trusted relationships with some of the largest financial institutions in the world. In fact, 19 out of the top 20 Fortune 500 banks and financial institutions use IBM Cloud, including BNP Paribas, Broadridge, Banco Sabadell and Caixa Bank, to name a few. We also launched the world's first financial-services ready cloud — IBM Cloud for Financial Services — and have built an ecosystem of global financial institutions and 90+ technology partners and FinTechs.
As we continue to focus on driving hybrid cloud adoption, we are working with clients to modernize their technologies, improve efficiency, bridge varied cloud environments and ensure mission-critical workloads are integrated with security and resiliency. With a strategic focus on the financial services industry, I am confident that Alan’s expertise will help advance our leadership, setting a new standard for operational and delivery excellence. He understands the challenges for highly regulated industries running mission-critical workloads in the cloud, and, ultimately, this continues our mission to “de-risk” the financial services industry — delivering on a hybrid cloud environment for the banking industry.
Alan comes to IBM from HSBC, one of the world’s largest global banks, where he served as the Global Head of IT Infrastructure for the last five years, leading a significant transformation for the bank’s IT infrastructure and service management capabilities. He also held a variety of key executive roles at Lloyds Banking Group and Royal Bank of Scotland Group (now NatWest Group).
We look forward to welcoming Alan to IBM later this month.
