Introducing IBM Cloud Private Experiences
We recently introduced IBM Cloud Private Experiences, a different type of trial designed to help enterprises gain more of a self-service option for AI. In less than 15 minutes—and with no download required—you can find a path that best suits your cloud journey through collecting, organizing, and analyzing data with IBM Cloud Private and IBM Cloud Private for Data.
Here’s a closer look at the newest path focused on deploying cloud-native applications and containerized software from IBM’s catalog of services. The path guides you through the platform and catalog to deploy a sample mortgage application, thus offering a compelling industry experience for financial services and banking.
You work for a large multi-national bank and are responsible for processing mortgage applications. Approving a mortgage application is a manual and resource-intensive process. The process involves looking at a number of variables—such as a client’s income, credit card debt, the sale price of the house, the loan amount, and so on—to determine whether the loan is a safe bet or a big gamble. You are responsible for automating the process by building a machine learning model that can accurately predict the likelihood of any given client defaulting on their mortgage.
The model will be invoked in real-time by a web or mobile app that customers use to apply for a mortgage, and it enables your company to analyze a mortgage application and decide whether to approve it in a few seconds with no manual intervention. This leads to significant cost savings and, more importantly, improved customer service because applications will be approved or rejected instantaneously.
Step 1: Configure a Helm chart
Explore the IBM Cloud Private catalog to understand how a cloud-native mortgage application is packaged and loaded into a Helm chart that will be deployed on the platform. With the enterprise-ready software that is readily available in the catalog, you will learn about how enterprises can leverage containers in the IBM Cloud Private platform to make applications easier to deploy, maintain, and manage.

Step 2: Manage deployments
You’ll progress to manage the app you just deployed. See it become more extensible, scalable, and portable. Build scalability, portability, and resiliency into the app. Know how to reduce application downtime and maintenance time and leverage a microservices architecture with containers.
Step 3: Deploy your cloud-native application
Ready to deploy your application? Visit the IBM Cloud Private Experiences website. You’ll also be able to investigate the other IBM Cloud Private Experience paths—collect, organize, analyze, and build.
