Watson Knowledge Catalog (WKC) on IBM Cloud is now HIPAA-ready.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is the U.S. Federal law and regulations that define the control of personal healthcare information (PHI) for entities responsible for managing such data.

With this significant achievement, HIPAA readiness now permits customers in U.S. Healthcare regulated industries to further consider Watson Knowledge Catalog on IBM Cloud for their data governance, data quality, and data consumption needs.  

HIPAA readiness support is only available for Watson Knowledge Catalog paid plans and offered in the Dallas (U.S. South) IBM Data Center.
