With the goal of being Australia’s most customer-connected bank, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank employs DevOps practices to continually deliver new applications and updates to internal and customer-facing systems. But with changes being implemented so rapidly, the bank sought to ensure quality application performance from development through production.
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank created a monitoring-as-a-service solution based on IBM Application Performance Management software. The bank uses the solution to monitor a range of on-premises systems and cloud-based applications running on the IBM Bluemix cloud platform. During development, developers can link an application to the monitoring service to automate 24x7 performance monitoring and alerts.
Within three months of deploying Application Performance Management software, the bank automated monitoring and alerting for applications across 700 servers. The automation saves time and supports greater system uptime, which ultimately strengthens service to the bank’s customers.
