By migrating some of our work to the cloud, it takes some activities that we used to have to focus on off our plates and allows us to focus on the activities that now matter to the organization, and ultimately, the consumer.

Business Challenge story

Whirlpool Corporation realized that in order to provide high quality products and experience to its customers they will have to function well internally. Whirlpool wanted to over its challenge of technology debt, the systems that need to be retired or that are beyond their lifetime support.

Whirlpool decided to upgrade their SAP system to SAP HANA and turned to IBM for cloud-managed services. IBM is a premier SAP-certified cloud-platform provider and has a strong pool of skilled technicians and thought leaders.Whirlpool tested the SAP cloud migration in one of its smaller businesses, and went live in late 2015. It was a great experience! Since then they have rolled it out globally and continue to migrate workloads to IBM Cloud for SAP Applications.

In a world of limited time, resources and cash flow, Whirlpool is letting IBM do the heavy lifting for its data center and platform management. This gives Whirlpool the opportunity to apply its time, money and energy to innovating and delivering better products to customers.
