Obtain metrics for the following systems and environments

IBM CICS

IBM® CICS® is a family of enterprise application servers with exceptional transactional performance and connectivity for mission-critical transactions. Transaction Tracking: Transaction timing data for CICS transactions flowing from MQ (MQI/JMS), HTTP and SOAP entry points. Resource Monitoring: Per-region insight into key performance information including transaction and storage metrics and general the health of connections to Db2®, IMS™, and MQ systems.

IBM z/OS

IBM z/OS® is a highly secure, scalable and resilient enterprise operating system for the IBM Z® systems mainframe. Resource Monitoring Enhanced monitoring and metrics capabilities for CPU, common storage areas, page rates and more. You also get access to statistics on million service unit capacities and usage. Million service unit details information is available in per-five-minute intervals.

IBM IMS

IBM Information Management System (IMS™) provides industrial strength capabilities for both managing and distributing data with the highest levels of availability, performance, security and scalability. Transaction Tracking: Transaction timing data for IMS DB transactions flowing from CICS. Resource Monitoring: Per-subsystem performance information including CPU usage (available by address space), queue rates, transaction metrics, and individual region statuses and occupancy percentages.

IBM CICS Transaction Gateway

IBM CICS Transaction Gateway provides highly-scalable, multi-user access to CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS-TS). Resource Monitoring provides monitoring and metrics for gateway daemon status and the general health of CICS-TS communications, including request and response statistics and transaction metrics. CICS Transaction Gateway includes statistics on the operation of external CICS interface (EXCI) applications and IP interconnectivity (IPIC) connections, plus to CICS-TS region count.

IBM Db2

IBM Db2 is an enterprise-grade database optimized to deliver extreme performance, flexibility, scalability and reliability for any size organization. Transaction Tracking provides timing data for Db2 transactions flowing from CICS; Resource Monitoring provides performance information for Db2 including CPU metrics (by LPAR and Db2 subsystem), thread, transaction, and lock metrics, as well as other key indicators on buffer pools and storage statistics that help you gauge the health of your Db2.

IBM MQ

IBM MQ is a messaging solution that uses message queues to facilitate information exchange between cloud, mobile, Internet of Things (IoT) and on-premises environments. MQ provides transaction tracking of MQ data transactions flowing into CICS; and resource monitoring of MQ components: queue managers, command servers, channels, and server connections. Agents monitor critical MQ errors and other problems with in doubt channels, listener issues, events not reset, and dead letter queue messages.

JVMs running on z/OS systems

Java® virtual machines (JVMs) have become increasingly important in enabling next generation workloads in cloud, analytics, mobile and security (CAMS) on z/OS. JVMs include resource monitoring that monitors key indicators on JVMs, including metrics on garbage collection (GC), occupancy, threads, and locks. Plus vital JVM environmental data about individual jobs, GC modes, heap sizes and maximum used percentages.

IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition

z/OS Connect is a RESTful gateway for z/OS to enable common API access to z/OS Subsystems. Resource monitoring provides key metrics including REST service names, request counts, response times and other metrics.
