Once again, this was another year packed with conferences and events that reinforced the importance of the transformation taking place in HR and talent management. There’s no doubt we’re moving headlong through an era of AI, machine learning, and cognitive computing technologies that are making it easier and faster to find, secure, and engage the people you need when and where you need them.
As I made my way around shows like HR Tech Las Vegas, UNLEASH Amsterdam, and NYC Uncubed, we shot and shared Season One of Watson Talent Talks. Across 19 episodes, we spent time talking to leading influencers, analysts, CEOs, researchers, and IBM customers as we dug into the hot topics, challenges, and opportunities you’re exploring from the expo hall floors to the office space back home. The conversations were casual, unrehearsed, and fun!
Our guests included talent acquisition and HR thought-leaders such as Jason Averbook, Tim Sackett, Sarah Brennan, John Sumser, Kevin Grossman, Stacey Harris, Chris Johnson, and Jessica Miller-Merrell.

As we close out the year and look towards 2018, we’re excited to start development on Season Two. We’ll be back with camera and mic in hand at events like Think 2018, the first of its kind business and technology event where HR leaders mingle with tech pros and influencers as you discover how you can realize exponential outcomes through the power of IBM. And then, watch for us at conferences in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia-Pac, and beyond! If the lights are on, the mics are hot, and the Watson Track Jackets are zipped up, don’t hesitate to swing by for a chat on camera or just to let us know what you think. We’d love to hear from YOU!

This year IBM InterConnect asks the question, “How can you use the world’s biggest breakthroughs to unleash ingenuity?” Most people might not associate “ingenuity” with HR, but at no time in history has it been more important for new thinking in the way we approach talent management. Fortunately there are several breakout sessions at this […]
Attending IBM Connect last week, I was struck by this sobering statistic shared by Ed Crowe, sales and solution leader for IBM Talent Acquisition and Optimization: “Sixty percent of the new jobs created will require the skills that only 20 percent of the population actually has.” So if the majority of the candidate pool falls […]
