This week on #MediaChat: holiday readiness.

In these dog days of summer, consumers are on the hunt for sunscreen, bathing suits, and outdoor furniture. And thanks to the heat and humidity, Christmas couldn’t be further from the minds of summer shoppers. But that’s not the case for retailers and marketers – July marks just three short months until the much anticipated holiday shopping frenzy and holiday shopping preparation is in high gear.

As any savvy retailer knows, preparing for the holidays goes well beyond extending store hours and hiring extra staff. For those retailers looking to score big this holiday season and beyond, it’s all about personalization, engaging customer experiences, and of course, mobile. IBM recently released the Seventh Annual Holiday Readiness Report, which dives into the trends retailers and marketers can expect to see this holiday season and I’ll be discussing this report in detail on the next #MediaChat twitter chat.

Join me on Thursday, July 31 at 10 p.m. EST, as I share key insights from the report and my tips for how retailers and marketers can succeed this holiday season. Join the conversation by following the hashtag #MediaChat. You can also follow me at @Jay_Henderson.
