Are you planning to attend IBM InterConnect 2016 this month? It’s a hugely popular cloud and mobile conference and a great place for education on how to evolve your infrastructure for digital transformation.

Many organizations today are looking for ways to master the cloud to their full advantage and to work with greater agility. They want to build a better business and transform their markets, and they know that requires them to innovate quickly and wisely. If you’re looking to learn more about using IBM software and hardware, InterConnect 2016 will offer several deep-dive sessions on enterprise development for IBM Power Systems, IBM z Systems and IBM LinuxONE. The InterConnect curriculum is designed to help organizations learn how to speed product and application innovation across the enterprise while balancing speed, cost, quality and risk—whether they’re working in a Power, z Systems or Linux environment.

Please read on for details!

Innovating for growth with IBM Power Systems

This portion of the article is contributed by Kimberly Storin, VP of Portfolio Marketing, Power Systems.

For organizations working in a Power Systems environment, the InterConnect curriculum will help you leverage hardware, application and people investments well. One of the big highlights is the Power Systems kickoff session (session 7153), “Hybrid Cloud in the Cognitive Era with IBM Power Systems and OpenPOWER.” In this session, Doug Balog will discuss how Power Systems and OpenPOWER can help companies unleash the power of the hybrid cloud for today’s explosion of data and the era of cognitive computing.

In addition to the Power Systems kickoff, here are several other sessions I recommend, many of which will include client stories about how real companies are innovating in the cloud with Power:

  • Session YPS-2753 – “How Cloud Service Providers Are Innovating on POWER8 for Growth”
  • Session YPS-6028 – “Watch Watson Work: GoMoment revolutionizes your hotel fron desk experience”
  • Session YPS-2737 – “OpenPOWER Innovation: Hear Directly from Foundation Members and Clients”
  • Session YPS-5926 – “Key Information Systems Goes Above and Beyond Cloud Demands with IBM Power Systems”
  • Session YPS-5935 – “How Tieto Doubled Revenues in Eight Months by Launching Industry-Optimized Cloud Services”

I hope you can attend one or more Power sessions this February. To stay in touch with the action at InterConnect, follow us on Twitter with the hashtags #PowerSystems, #OpenPOWER and #POWER8.

Entering the cognitive era with IBM z Systems

This portion of the article was contributed by Simon Hares, IBM z Systems marketing manager.

IBM z Systems are delivering new technology innovations to enable an IT infrastructure designed for the cognitive business. At InterConnect this year, z Systems will offer sessions to help our clients master hybrid cloud innovation while upholding high security standards. The IBM z keynote, “Master Hybrid Cloud, Defend Against Cyber Threats with IBM z Systems and IBM LinuxONE” (session YZS-7181) will be delivered by Ross Mauri and will show how the new mainframe enables you to leverage your existing IT assets to create fresh differentiation with agile, efficient and cybersecure hybrid clouds.

Here are a few other sessions I highly recommend adding to your agenda:

  • Session CBA-5045 – “Funding Cloud Innovation: Greenlighting Your Next Cloud Initiative”
  • Session SAD-4949 – “Are We Finally Ready for Hybrid Cloud/On-Premise Security Testing?”

Leadership requires ongoing business and IT transformation. If your IT infrastructure is built on the mainframe, InterConnect will offer lots of learning opportunities to help you evolve for the era of cognitive business. During the event, please follow our activity on Twitter at #IBMz.

Embracing open standards with IBM LinuxONE

This portion of the article was contributed by Steven Dickens, LinuxONE offering manager and economics lead.

Linux is everywhere, driving the open standards movement in IT. The IBM LinuxONE portfolio of hardware, software and services solutions is optimized for enterprise Linux. It is helping companies to re-architect traditional platforms and leverage the cloud, to deploy new applications while maintaining security and fast response times. At InterConnect, we’ll share our portfolio and celebrate how open source is opening doors in IT.

If your company is looking for ways to unleash the full power of Linux in your enterprise development, check out LinuxONE sessions at InterConnect. Here are my top recommendations:

  • Session YLO-4121 – “Expanding the Open Source Linux Ecosystem to Drive Rapid Innovation and Higher Value Using IBM LinuxONE”
  • Session YLO-5588 – “IBM LinuxONE Is Linux Your Way—Without Limits and Without Risk”
  • Session YLO-4073 – “Overview of the LinuxONE Portfolio”
  • Session BPD-7121 – “Unleash the Full Potential of Linux with the Best of Open and Enterprise Computing with IBM LinuxONE”

Follow the action with us on Twitter using the hashtag #LinuxONE.

Organizations around the world working in Power, z Systems and Linux environments are realizing the benefits of evolving their infrastucture for today’s cognitive era with IBM Systems. InterConnect 2016 will provide a great opportunity to hear their stories and come away inspired for your own digital transformation.

The conference is just a few weeks away now (February 21–25). If you haven’t already, be sure to register today and add the above sessions to your agenda.
