TJ Shembekar
CIO leader for the IBM Global Financing division
TJ Shembekar is the CIO leader for the IBM Global Financing division, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM. He is responsible for driving execution on more than $55M in annual budget across a global staff of 600 IT professionals.
TJ is a passionate global business executive who merges IT and business expertise to transform IT landscapes. He delivers great user experiences by using Agile/Design Thinking principles and deploying cloud native solutions that can scale globally.
He has more than 25 years in the industry and has worked at IBM for 15 years - the last 12 in an executive capacity. His experiences and strengths include management of large, complex software implementations, global delivery expertise, and cultivating an effective agile organization through coaching and business transformation. His industry experience includes manufacturing, financial services and pharmaceuticals.
Prior to his current role, he was the Director for Global HR in IBM. In that role, he led IBM’s internal global deployment of SAP Concur’s travel and expense tool. Previously, he was an Associate Partner in the HCM Cross Sector Practice. Under his leadership, he consistently demonstrated the ability to drive delivery of large, complex SAP HCM projects on time and on budget.
TJ is an instrument rated, commercial pilot, and a charity mission pilot for the Angel Flight organization. He is also an ardent technology early adopter. Currently, TJ lives with his wife in Danbury, CT.
