We grab a coffee with IBMers from around the world, and share our chat in this weekly spotlight series. This week you can meet Ellie, from IBM UK.

In the morning, I like my coffee…
My day always starts with black filter coffee… in my favourite llama mug!

When I get up to go to work, I look forward to…
The daily scrum with my team. My colleagues are based all around the world so it’s really useful to align our goals and progress every morning.

I am responsible for..
Designing and developing web prototypes for innovative proof of technology projects. I work closely with designers and stakeholders to rapidly iterate through designs and fail fast.

My typical day…
Starts with a team scrum, followed by a few hours of solid development. In the afternoon I have meetings to collaborate on prototypes or have user research calls with clients.

The coolest part of my job is…
The range of technologies I get to play day-to-day and inventing new patents in my spare time!

The biggest challenge I have….
Is keeping up with the ever-changing web development landscape. It seems like there’s a new framework or tech stack that we should be able to use every week. But it keeps me on my toes 😉

Most memorable moment in my career…
Was speaking about innovation and the new generation of IBM with our CEO Ginny in the audience!

Top piece of career advice…
Never stop learning – whether it’s trying out new technologies or learning a language, push yourself and invest in your future.
