What is FedRAMP?

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is a government-wide program. It provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. This approach uses a “do once, use many times” framework that saves cost, time, and staff required to conduct redundant Agency security assessments. In short, FedRAMP supports the US Office of Management and Budget’s goal to reform technology management with a Cloud First Policy that allows US Agencies to rapidly adapt from old, legacy IT to mission-enabling, secure cloud services. This enables them to better serve agency mission, drive improved citizen services and increase cyber security.

Will FedRAMP make Maximo more secure?

Maximo is a widely known, secured SaaS offering in market today.  The FedRAMP requirements include additional controls above the standard NIST baseline controls in NIST SP 800-53 Revision 4. This addresses the unique elements of cloud computing to ensure all federal data is secure in cloud environments.
