Next stop for your business: digital reinvention! IBM and SAP have recently announced investments to co-innovate solutions that increase customer value through cognitive extensions, enhanced customer and user experiences and industry-specific functionality — all enabled with SAP® Business Suite 4 SAP HANA® (SAP S/4HANA) software, available on premise and in the cloud.
— But what does digital reinvention mean? What can it do for my business? Are there specific examples?
Based on actual client requirements, IBM and SAP have co-developed proof of concepts and apps for a number of industry and line-of-business scenarios. These apps integrate IBM Cognitive and SAP HANA capabilities, brought together with know-how and best practices of the joint services teams. Let’s look at a few examples:
Imagine you’re shopping in a retail store. A shop assistant engages you in a chat asking you a few questions about your preferences and what you are looking for. A minute later, he walks up with the item you have long been looking for.
Most retailers with traditional stores face challenges in transferring this shopping experience into their online store. IBM and SAP together have tackled this problem and created an E-Commerce Advisor, based on SAP Hybris and IBM Cognitive technology, which transfers this guided shopping experience into the digital world.
As another example, imagine you’re a recruiter trying to find the best talent to match your job openings, but you need more information to make the right choice for your organization. By using the Hiring Advisor, built on SAP SuccessFactors and IBM Cognitive capabilities, the recruiter has access to a cognitive advisor who presents a slate of candidates most likely to succeed within the organization based on several factors from learning through performance management.
