WRC 2017: From supply chain to value ecosystem

supply chain

Building a new value chain that is faster, smarter and more flexible can elevate the traditional supply chain from a cost center to a competitive differentiator.

Industry icon Dr. Victor K. Fung, Group Chairman of Li & Fung, will be discussing the impact of digitization on the supply chain at the World Retail Congress next week in Dubai with IBM’s VP and Global Industry Leader, Steve Laughlin.  The two will explore how the entire value chain must be revolutionized to deliver the products, services and experiences that consumers seek.

With the Global Cloud Supply Chain Management Market poised to grow at a CAGR of around 20.7% over the next decade to reach approximately $17.9 billion by 2025, the time has come for companies throughout the value ecosystem to invest in the always-on infrastructure and back-room functions needed to operate a secure, transparent and efficient supply chain.

Retailers and brands both large and small must concentrate on behind-the-scenes processes to truly transform the way value ecosystems are managed and the levels at which they perform.

I’m looking forward to attending the 10th Annual World Retail Congress where retail leaders will converge, from the world’s greatest retail icons to the most innovative start-ups and disruptors.  And it will be inspiring to introduce Victor and Steve’s discussion.  If you’re not making the trip to Dubai, stay tuned for the video highlights of the event.
