Hot insurance sessions at IBM Think 2019

With such a great lineup of education and activities for insurance leaders at IBM Think from February 12-15  in San Francisco this year, planning your agenda will be tough. While there is a great array of insurance-specific sessions from which to choose, the sessions below are highly recommended.

Acquiring and retaining digital native millennial customers requires insurers to find innovative ways to enhance customer engagement. This session highlights effective ways insurers can utilize gamification techniques to attract and retain young customers using IBM Mobile Foundation. Millennials are early digital adopters and are exposed to gamification through loyalty programs. By building gamification via an integrated portal and mobile apps, insurance companies can get their attention. Implementing gamification involves an ideal mix of both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards, such as personal challenges in preventive care and disease management, monitoring and providing feedback on safe driving and benchmarking against peers.

Expectations for service and customer experience are changing. The service experience in insurance and health management will be tremendously improved by using new digital services. The largest public health insurer in Germany, Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), is using IBM platform technology to create seamless interoperability in the German health ecosystem. In addition to streamlining and digitizing its insurance processes based on our open insurance platform, IBM and TK are jointly developing an electronic health record (eHR) to orchestrate superior digital health management for TK’s 10 million customers by interconnecting the health insurance ecosystem.

Insights from a convergence of data sources can be created by deploying cognitive and predictive technology to recognize and correlate patterns across diverse data and identify fraudulent claims more efficiently and accurately than the old process, which entailed an intensive manual review of one piece of data at a time.
