IBM Cognitive and Interactive Experiences at SXSW

IBM — and IBM Interactive Experience — are excited to be attending South by Southwest Interactive. This is the annual nexus of experience design digerati who immerse themselves in what’s new and provocative in the world of digital experience transformation, and it’s a movement we’re proud to be shaping. We look forward to being in Austin to share some of what we’re doing to advance the trade.

First, make no mistake about the power of cognitive in the world’s digital makeover. The IBM Cognitive Studio will be front and center just outside the Convention Center in what is normally the Vince Young Steakhouse. We’ve reinvented the restaurant to give attendees a hands-on digital experience to share some of our best thinking, and to highlight innovations aimed squarely at creating exceptional digital experiences.

Leaders and top creative & design talent from our IBM Interactive Experience team, including leaders from our newly acquired agency, Resource/Ammirati, will be on hand on Tuesday, March 15th to socialize, share and exchange experiences. We’ve planned interactive workshops that will illustrate how IBM Watson and other advanced approaches are throwing the window of digital innovation wide open. Space is extremely limited and we encourage you to register in advance to reserve a seat.

Show me the money

Design on its own is not sufficient to stand up a new experience or a new business, nor is technology. There are three legs to the stool. The third is business strategy. How will you make money? What is your competitive advantage? How will you win? Take the three together, and you have a solid, […]

Design drives value and disruption, technology enables it

After I share my view on the central role of design thinking in digital, as I did in my last post, the old cliché is often brought up: if Henry Ford had used design thinking, he would have designed a faster horse and not a car. But I think that does design thinking a disservice. […]

Good design is good business

If you google “CEO strategy”, you’ll get about 128 million results. Seem like a lot? Google “CEO design”. You’ll get 259 million – over twice as many. Now, I can’t go back 10 years and do the same search, but we do know that design is a CEO agenda item right now. Some might thank […]
