Today IBM launched IBM Global Business Services Online, a new capability that provides clients an easy-to-use service and a competitive price point to access IBM’s consulting services over the web. IBM is the first major IT consultancy to offer both new and existing clients immediate access to consulting capabilities and expertise.
We can now offer clients in the United States and United Kingdom a “click to buy” experience for a variety of services — from migrating mobile applications and analyzing social media presence to application development and testing.
Clients can order and pay for services using a credit card, invoice or purchase order, and once purchased, a consultant will contact the client within one business day of order confirmation. We’ve developed an innovative delivery model to ensure a convenient, seamless digital experience.
This news shows that IBM is making its consultants and their expertise more readily available to broader set of clients. I would argue that IBM is leading a fundamental shift in the consulting market by providing immediate access to its consultants online.
This is in response to the fact that there’s a new IT buyer — the responsibility no longer sits solely with the CIO. A broader set of C-suite executives are now looking for services to support their business goals and they want to access them in different ways.
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of IBM’s recent introduction of Cloud Business Solutions, another new way IBM consultants are giving clients to access IBM software, services and expertise. Cloud Business Solutions bring together the best of IBM from cloud infrastructure to consulting, software and ongoing support in one client agreement, tailored to individual vertical industries and scalable based on client needs — transforming the way that businesses operate, not just technology models.
It’s always IBM’s goal to reach our clients where they are. With digital innovations and cloud computing, we can help our clients reach their goals — even transform their business — faster and easier than ever.
