IndiaTimes shared, “With the largest population of youth in the world coupled with increased disposable incomes of the rising middle class in India has thrown open myriad opportunities for Indian retail sector to ride the wave…. Recent trends indicate that there has been a considerable shift in the buying behavior of the Indian consumers, who are increasingly willing to buy goods and services online…” To me, this article presents further evidence that CPG and Retail merchants that are not currently doing business in India, even those that are only local business currently, should take a serious look at the potential to become a multinational corporation by leveraging opportunities in India. I have seen some incredible examples of innovation that CPG brands and retailers alike have brought to the region, that the consumers are eager to capture.
