NEW STATS: 85% Use Smartphones in Retail Stores, 55% Changed How They Shop CPG

A very comprehensive study detailed by in his great article in MobileShopTalk shares the latest findings from DigitasLBi.  The Connected Consumer Study interviewed 1000 people in each of 17 countries to find that an overhelming majority (85%) of shoppers use their smartphones while shopping in physical stores.  The study shows that the primary source the shoppers use for information while in the store is the retailer’s or (CPG brand) app or website.  I think this just highlights the fact that CPG brands need to drive down into the “hands” of shoppers in order to have a presence regardless of where they are currently shopping.
