IoT can deliver smarter, more efficient CPG / Retail supply chains. How?

All the buzz with the Internet of Things (IoT) makes me think about all the ways it could help avoid some perennial challenges in the supply chain.  As IndustryWeek shares simple fixes like sensors throughout the supply networks can help create the visibility that we continue to talk about.  Additionally, the IoT can also help CPG and Retail companies create a services arm to leverage deep insights becoming available today with the right tools employed.  Currently, as much as 90& of all data is not acted upon nor analyzed.  I think the IoT is one fast way to change this for the better.  Please share your ideas on how else the IoT can help optimize the supply chain.
