With all the great promotions at so many merchants, how can you not buy a little something for yourself. At least in the U.S., 30% of all shopping done during the Friday through Monday Thanksgiving weekend was shoppers purchasing gifts for themselves. I wonder if this trend is pervasive in other regions around the world. I believe CPG brands and retailers have some opportunities here to capitalize upon this trend. Reuters has a story on this.
