An article by Scott Jones in Marketing:CPG shares a thought I’ve gad for some time now. There has been a steady erosion of brand loyalty and surveys have shown that 70%+ of consumers don’t trust brands. Private label products are taking greater share from brands. CPG Brand innovation is being driven by these and other trends noted in the article. I think no brand can overestimate the impact on their brand value that innovation has.
