It is now three years that we moved to our new model around Training and Skills. There were lots of questions how fast we can achieve our target of increased coverage, high quality, and significant increase of skills.
I was recently in a discussion with a Partner around the complexity of moving localized grey-market offerings into official certified IBM materials. I understood that things need time, and even with giving our partners all means they need the work especially in smaller countries and with smaller partners is not always easy.
So, I was curious to see if the effort that this partner invested into Business Development was just them or if this is a trend, and I looked further into the coverage around Mainframe Skills.
The chart on the right hand side shows where we are, it reveals the countries we’re covering each quarter with Mainframe Training: There is obviously significant improvements, which started in Q1/2015, and since then showing a good trend.
My personal summary: Business Development is nothing that happens over night, and even if you try to be fast a lot of globally triggered plans taking time. But it is good to see that we’re having results.
