IBM and Box

Recap of Box at IBM Connect 2017

Two of my favorite things, IBM Connect and the city of San Francisco, have come together in an amazing week that I feel compelled to tell you all about.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Orlando where IBM Connect has been hosted in the past.  I’m a Florida native and talking to clients in the beautiful weather of central Florida was always a pleasure to do in the winter.

But, San Francisco as a change of venue is also significant because change is good (and the weather is still beautiful!).  Change brings about innovation and this is what IBM Connect is all about… collaborating to achieve business results in new ways.

As a conference focused on collaboration, IBM Connect 2017 started with an amazing General Session hosted by Inhi Suh, General Manager of IBM Collaboration Solutions, where she showed some of the exciting things IBM Watson Work offers clients.

In addition to highlighting Box Relay (more on that in a moment), Inhi took us through Watson Workspace and spoke with some of our clients about how they’re using IBM solutions across their organizations.

For example, the topic of how IBM Connections integrates with Box was one of the things that we spoke about both at the EXPO booth and during many of our sessions.

Connect BlogThere were several well-attended sessions in the agenda and I spoke with a number of clients demonstrating Box in IBM Connections. This integrated solution brings ‘the right tool for the right job’ approach.  IBM Connections can include both Box folders and Box files in any of the content elements of a Community.

I also spoke to clients about Box Relay, demonstrating this new integration and exciting solution that we announced alongside Box at BoxWorks 2016.

Overall, the conference showcased great innovations with great clients in another great city.  If you missed Connect 2017, don’t worry.  We’ve written a great eBook that outlines some of the reasons you might look at Box as a solution to help your organization collaborate more effectively (and we have a 30 day free Box trial so you can try it first-hand).

Next stop, IBM InterConnect in Las Vegas from March 19-23, 2017.
