The Engage 2018 Conference (May 22 and 23, 2018) was everything we hoped it would be, and more. More than 400 people from 31 countries came and attended more than 80 jam-packed sessions, round tables, and networking—all aboard the amazing SS Rotterdam, the former flagship of the Holland America Line.
The audience was predominantly a “yellow” one, as die-hard Domino fans (and newcomers) were delighted to hear from IBM product leaders—including @_bobschultz and @andrewmanby—as they shared their plans for the future of the IBM Collaboration Solutions portfolio and the upcoming Domino V10 roadmap. Richard Jefts and the HCL team were also on stage to outline their plans for the Domino portfolio.
There were many exciting announcements made and news about the whole ICS portfolio—including weaving intelligence, with Watson, into everything—but the news that clearly got everyone revved up the most at Engage was about Domino Applications on Cloud. Users can now move their Domino workflow and other applications to the IBM Cloud for secure, scalable and cost-effective management—while continuing to work with their favorite Domino applications as before. DAC also allows users to develop apps without worrying about underlying infrastructure or internal skills.
The IBM booth was stocked with #domino2025, Watson Workspace, and Connections giveaways (only four out of 400 Domino highlighter pens made it back to us!) and attendees were able to get hands-on with demos from the whole product line – including a Watson Workspace and Connections integration demo and custom-made Workspace templates by Stefano Pogliani and Kirti Gani.
We cannot thank enough @theoheselmans and his wife Hilde for all the hard work and the amazing outcome!
In case you missed Engage this time around, there are many other exciting opportunities coming up for you to learn about our Intelligent Collaboration portfolio and to continue on this journey with our ICS community. Look out for more details in the Domino Newsletter to find out about the next events close to you!
