6 years running: IBM a leader in Gartner OSS Magic Quadrant

IBM has once again been named a leader in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Operational Support Systems. Gartner explored ten major vendors that sell end-to-end OSS communication service providers in the global marketplace and recognized IBM as a leader for our completeness of vision and continued execution. IBM has been recognized as a leader in the OSS MQ since before IBM acquired Micromuse in 2006.

The IBM solution is built on strong capabilities of Netcool, which we believe has been proven through long term deployments in the largest and the most demanding heterogeneous infrastructures in the world. On top of that, we have added an array of analytics capabilities that allow us to drive operations efficiency, closely monitor customer experience metrics, and detect emerging problems before they impact customers. These analytics capabilities enable early detection of problems as they emerge, and can be used to target problems very specifically, which is very critical in lights-out response. We believe IBM’s solution provides a modular architecture for cloud-based-networking that can be populated with a variety of IBM or non-IBM components to meet your specific needs.

Finally, the solution is knit together with IBM’s extensive telecom services helping you transform your people and processes as well as your tools to maximize the value and flexibility of your overall OSS solution. While IBM provides a full closed-loop OSS solution for service delivery and assurance, we are one of the few vendors in the leader quadrant that assumes carriers will want to build up a modular solution featuring existing and favored solutions. This provides flexibility and choice, enabling integration of a solution best suited for your needs.
