Why does IBM provide social business in the cloud?

Share this post:

social business in the cloudCloud and social business are some of the most hot and important topics at the moment. During conversations and meetings with clients, we often discuss the possibility to migrate from an on-premise to a cloud environment.

As result of these conversations and meetings I can hear some complaints from clients regarding the best option for security, flexibility and so on.

So you might be thinking: there are a lot of big players competing in this area—including IBM, Jive, Microsoft, Cisco and Yammer. Which is the best choice? Why IBM? In this post, I will give you some reasons why I believe IBM is the best option to provide this service or solution.

  • Enterprise

All of our solutions, including SmartCloud for Social Business, are thought and designed with a focus on the enterprise. IBM knows that data security is key, and it’s a concern before launching and deploying the product in the market.

  • Experience

IBM has much experience with collaborations and cloud solutions. Regarding the Social Business solution on cloud, IBM is present in more than 50 countries around the world.

  • Flexibility

With SmartCloud for Social Business, the client has flexibility to choose what is the best way to implement the solution: hybrid, public or private cloud.

For example, if you are a small company that’s looking for agility and elasticity, and you don’t care about managed hardware, software and so on, then public cloud fits you.

  • Mobility

To address the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) wave, where the users are using their own devices, independent of vendors and brands, to access enterprise systems like email, instant messaging and social networks, the company has to decide how to safely make this available for their users. SmartCloud for Social Business fits this need by supporting most of the devices available in the market.

And what about you? What do you care about in a service or solution provider?
