One of the major advantages of using an orchestration layer for private cloud, such as Tivoli Service Automation Manager, is the ability to deploy patterns as part of a complex cloud topology. IBM Workload Deployer is an appliance that is packaged with software to manage resources in a cloud computing environment to deploy WebSphere patterns. This appliance, combined with the orchestration capabilities of Tivoli Service Automation, gives customers the ability to deploy WebSphere patterns along with other patterns though a unified cloud self-service interface.
The following steps describe a walkthrough of Tivoli Service Automation Manager deploying a cloud service with IBM Workload Deployer:
- Select the Create Project with a Workload Deployer Patternoption.
- Fill in the project details, and select an available workload deployer pattern for deployment.
