Motivation for a cloudy day

One person’s motivation to take a specific action might be different from another’s.  For some, enticements of benefits are often the key motivators, for others it might be the thrill of exploration, and others it might be desperate desire to keep up with the Joneses.  And for others, like my children, external forces, such as a swift kick in the backside, is the required motivation.  In IT, the motivations might be a need to keep up with the competition, a need to become more profitable, or the desire to be on the leading edge of the technology curve.  Any of these, or possibly 37 other reasons, could be driving you to examine cloud computing for your enterprise.

If however, you haven’t yet looked at what cloud computing can do for your company, you might want to look at an upcoming event called “IBM SmartCloud Enterprise 2.0: Beyond Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS)”.  This IBM-sponsored web cast will assist you in understanding cloud computing and how you can realize its benefits. Click this link to register for the webcast.

Tim Kounadis, Program Director for IBM SmartCloud Services, and Brian Snitzer, IBM Distinguished Engineer, will provide an overview of SmartCloud Enterprise and illustrate, through examples, how cloud can provide measurable time and cost savings.  In addition, Patrick Kerpan, President and CTO of CohesiveFT (a member Business Partner of the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise ecosystem) will discuss the CohesiveFT solutions running in IBM SmartCloud Enterprise.  I’ve heard all three of these guys speak and I am sure they will keep you captivated.

If that isn’t enough motivation for you to attend, also during this webcast, the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise 2012 Promotion will be discussed. This promotion, which runs from April 12 to June 11, 2012, will allow new customers the opportunity to try IBM SmartCloud Enterprise at no charge.  Customer’s will be allowed to provision both 32-bit and 64-bit virtual machines along with select software from IBM Software Group.  This is a limited-timed promotion so be sure and act soon (last day to take advantage of the offer is May 28, 2012).

And for those of you, like my children that need the additional motivation….
