In this webinar Mitch Robins presents Bluebox as an accelerated and SLA-driven private cloud deployment option built on non-customized OpenStack. Dr. Gili Mendel then explains how, from within a private cloud, IBM Bluemix software offers flexible access to the most current public cloud services, such as Watson, that deepen engagement with online customers.
Last month IBM commissioned Forrester Research to ask 200 IT leaders in the US, Europe, and Latin America about their current cloud computing deployments and theirs plans for the next two years. Most interestingly, though respondents overwhelmingly would prefer to deploy their systems in a private cloud, they hesitate to do so for lack of expertise both in implementing and managing such platforms. Respondents currently risk some security for the greater business advantages they perceive in deploying to hosted clouds.
Join us for an exclusive event where we will discuss how leading companies around the world are taking advantage of the cloud and how IBM is helping them to be successful. We are ready to take Bluemix into your datacentres, behind your firewall. Some of our customers require that their data should remain on premise, they want more control over the catalog, and they must have an operational view. Bluemix local delivers on all these requirements, and is powered by Relay. Bluemix Local is a collaborative cloud development and production environment that enables developers to build applications around their most sensitive data and workloads, and deploy them to an on-premises cloud environment, addressing concerns over data sovereignty, performance, latency, and compliance by giving you direct control over the physical location of your data. While detailed information about our Public and Dedicated offerings have been available for some time, this post dives into the architectural elements of the new Bluemix Local. More...
We have been operating the Bluemix public cloud deployment for over 18 months and are thrilled it has grown to over 120 services and now welcomes over 15,000 new users a week. That experience has helped us develop unique expertise—especially around the new, core open source components like Cloud Foundry, Docker & OpenStack—associated with operations, delivery, scalability, performance, HA and more. That expertise—combined with a lot of automation—is what makes Bluemix Local possible.
Those following the Bluemix story understand the true power of Bluemix – allowing developers to focus on faster, better and easier ways to build applications in the cloud. Developers are able to choose from a catalog of over 100 services and stitch them together to create powerful cognitive, Internet of Things, and mobile applications. It is no surprise that we are onboarding over 15,000 new users per week! Today IBM announced the third leg of our hybrid strategy – Bluemix Local. This post presents a typical scenario of an enterprise customer using Bluemix Local to build a hybrid solution.
