MQ on Cloud is now available in Sydney

Since you last heard from the MQ on Cloud team, we’ve been driving the mantra of “MQ is everywhere” by making ourselves even more available in a new deployment zone: IBM Cloud Sydney.

We’re always looking to nurture our IBM Cloud deployment location availability, and after numerous requests, we’re proud to include Sydney on our list of available locations for MQ as a managed service on IBM Cloud.

The latest upgrade: MQ 9.1.1

In addition to being available on three continents and multiple cloud providers, MQ on Cloud is staying true to its nature by ensuring that you’re using the latest version of MQ. You can now enjoy MQ 9.1.1 in the managed service by upgrading your queue managers manually or waiting until the automatic upgrade on February 6, 2019.

MQ 9.1.1 has the following in store for you

  1. Enhanced control over TLS connection negotiation, with support for whitelisting and dynamic negotiation of cipherspecs.
  2. Introduced support for developing applications in Microsoft .NET Core.
  3. Improved performance for better queue manager restart and client reconnection times.

Managed File Transfer (MFT)

IBM MQ on Cloud has now added another MQ Advanced feature enabling you to transfer files between systems and applications with IBM MQ Managed File Transfer (MFT). For more information, click here.

MQ on Cloud trial

If you want to see what all the fuss is about with the managed service or you want to test drive MQ 9.1.1, why not enjoy the MQ on Cloud trial today? It’s completely free, and you can be up and running in minutes (literally, that’s how long it takes from service deployment to queue manager creation).
