The 2018 FIFA World Cup was the largest production in the history of Fox Sports, in terms of personnel, hours and scale. The 64 broadcasted matches totaled more than the four previous World Cups combined. To create a dramatic new user experience and maintain production efficiencies at this large scale, Fox deployed a joint solution from IBM Aspera and Telestream. This offering let Fox Sports deliver live, broadcast-quality video streaming from the venues in Russia to its facilities in Los Angeles for remote production.
