Next Generation Intel® Xeon® E3-1270 v6 Processors now available on IBM Cloud

IBM is excited to announce the global availability of its bare metal servers powered by the new Intel® Xeon® E3-1270 v6 processor. With up to a 56 percent performance improvement compared to an Intel® second generation E3-1200 processor, the E3-1200 v6 processor-family delivers performance to manage today’s most demanding cloud workloads.

The Intel® Xeon® E3-1270 v6 processor has the following characteristics:

In addition to gains in CPU performance and support for faster memory speeds and higher memory capacity (up to 64 GB), the E3-1200 v6 product family-based platforms offer fast access to data and help protect data integrity – in addition to offering proven reliability across a range of business workloads. Ultimately, the E3-1270 v6 is a perfect choice for CPU and data intensive workloads.

IBM Cloud bare metal servers powered by Intel Xeon E3-1270 v6 processors are be available in IBM Cloud data centers in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.
