How to manage time-series data with InfluxCloud

Among the most common use cases for InfluxData’s InfluxCloud are:

  • DevOps monitoring: Monitor and control your cloud infrastructure, application and database instances, and containers in a consolidated platform.
  • Internet of Things (IoT): Stream, monitor and react to metrics and events from connected sensors and devices in the physical world.
  • Real-time analytics: Find the “signal from the noise” using real-time data analysis for equities trading, predictive maintenance, and optimizing e-commerce customer experience.

Getting started with InfluxCloud on Bluemix

With InfluxCloud, you can monitor any application or service created from or running in IBM’s broad product portfolio. And now you can get started directly from within the Bluemix console.

First, if you haven’t already registered for Bluemix, you will need to register. Go here to become a registered user of Bluemix.

InfluxCloud is available as third party service in the Data & Analytics category of the Bluemix Catalog. From the console, click the “Browse Catalog” button and select “InfluxCloud” from the displayed icons (as shown below).InfluxCloud service on Bluemix Catalog

Once on the InfluxCloud service page, you will be directed to register via the InfluxData website.InfluxCloud service page on Bluemix

On the InfluxData Web page, there are several pricing plans from which to choose. Select your plan accordingly and create an account.InfluxCloud: Choose a plan

Setting your credentials on InfluxCloud

During this account creation process, you will be asked to create your “Admin Name” and password for your InfluxCloud account.InfluxCloud: Create your Admin name and password

Once you have set your credentials, simply navigate back to the Bluemix console and enter your InfluxCloud credentials in the appropriate field.Adding InfluxCloud Host URL and password in Bluemix
