Visit the IBM Lounge at GitHub Universe

Back in June, IBMer and Distinguished Engineer, Dave Thomson announced the results of a strategic alliance between GitHub and IBM: the first and only fully managed, cloud-hosted version of GitHub Enterprise.

It was a milestone agreement for both parties as it set out to establish GitHub Enterprise capabilities built for an IBM Cloud platform: IBM Bluemix Dedicated. This on-premise version of Bluemix is a perfect match with GitHub Enterprise, the on-premises version of GitHub.

Next week, we take the next step in the relationship as a major sponsor of the GitHub Universe conference in San Francisco. At Pier 70, on Sept. 13-15, GitHub will hold its flagship user conference for the GitHub community. It is intended for developers, operations and system administrators, technical leads, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. The event includes advanced training, executive keynotes, deep-dives on open source projects, and case studies of successful software teams. It even includes a concert benefiting Black Girls Code.

Speaking at the conference will be IBM Watson software engineer, Colin Dean. He’ll be presenting “Code Review is an Architectural Necessity.” You’ll learn Code Review from an architect’s viewpoint, and his perspective that Code Review is an essential component in a product’s architectural plan because of the quality attributes it may provide.

The IBM Bluemix team will also be on hand at our IBM Developer Lounge. If you are planning to attend, be sure to come by our lounge. We’ll have our ever-popular Bluemix foosball table, plus other demonstrations of Bluemix. We’ll also have a great area for you to sit, relax, and recharge yourself and/or your laptop!

In short, it will be a blast!

When you register to attend, be sure to use our discount code for savings off the regular registration fee: UNIVERSEIBMLOUNGE2016. It’ll save you $50! Hope to see you at GitHub and the IBM Developer Lounge!
