New data console simplifies how you work with data in Bluemix!

We are happy to announce a new addition to the Bluemix Dashboard. We have teamed up with Bluemix to deliver a data console for developers and data scientists. We want to help you get up and running with your Bluemix app by making it dead-simple to analyze data.

In this console you’ll see the Services, Data, and Analytics tabs:

  • Services will give you a view of all of the data & analytics services you have provisioned in Bluemix
  • Data will show you all of your connections to databases and files (coming soon). Supported connections can be used as a source of data for your analytic notebooks, which are in the ‘Analytics’ tab
  • Analytics contains analytic notebooks powered by our IBM Analytics for Apache Spark service.

This console is major step towards a more integrated platform:

Data Console

Similar to the Discovery App, this console was architected and built as a set of micro-services. We leverage some of our own services under the covers. The user interface is enabled through REST APIs and comprised mostly of Node.js micro-services. The metadata from the different pages is stored in Cloudant.

Check out the new data console and let us know what you think!
