Musicians have jam sessions to get in sync and work out their ideas. Good designers do the same thing — which is why members of the IBM Analytics design team are leading “design jams” and related sessions during this year’s Analytics University meetings in Stockholm (September 17–20) and Miami (October 2–5).
Analytics University Design Jams in Miami
On October 4th in Miami, IBM design researchers will be leading six separate 45-minute design thinking workshops throughout the day. Because each session is highly interactive and covers a different topic, you could attend any number of them and get something new out of each one.
Breakout groups will cover various IBM Analytics and Hybrid Cloud offerings, including IBM Cloud Private for Data, Unified Governance and Integration, Data Science and Cognos Analytics, so this is your golden opportunity to help our designers understand how you work with your data, how you engage with IBM products and which aspects of our products are working well for you — or in need of improvement.
Tracy McGoldrick, Customer Experience Lead for IBM Analytics, says, “It’s amazing how many good ideas you can come up with in just 45 minutes when you have a group of people coming together to solve a problem.”
On all three days of Analytics University, you can also engage with two interactive experience areas. Each of these will feature a clever and fun activity that will help our designers better understand your product needs and desires.
Through the design jams and the interactive experience areas, you can give us your feedback and share your expertise alongside hundreds of other Analytics University attendees — customers and IBM Business Partners alike — representing many different backgrounds and work roles from more than a dozen industries. This will be an exclusive opportunity for you to influence our direction by helping us minimize the gaps between our assumptions and the realities you face in your day-to-day work.
Want to become an IBM Sponsor User?
The design team will also be recruiting Analytics and Hybrid Cloud product users to take an ongoing role on the IBM Hybrid Cloud Customer Experience Council as Sponsor Users. Sponsor Users are active participants who work alongside our product teams to help refine IBM offerings by providing feedback, ideas and domain expertise. These insights help us create amazing user experiences and products that will help you and your company excel.
“Customers often feel like they don’t have a voice,” McGoldrick says. “If they become a Sponsor User, they most definitely have a voice.”
Whether you become a Sponsor User or simply participate in the activities described here, McGoldrick says, “You have the undivided attention of the design team” at Analytics University.
Pre-event product jams for Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics
There’s even one more way you can influence the direction of our products. At both meetings of Analytics University, there will be afternoon sessions on the day before the main events begin — September 17 for Stockholm, October 2 for Miami — during which Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics clients and Business Partners will be invited to give their feedback to IBMers developing those products.
These focused but free-flowing sessions will give you a great opportunity to:
- Learn what’s new with Cognos Analytics or Planning Analytics
- Get insights into product roadmaps and IBM’s strategic direction for the portfolio
- Join design sessions to help shape future enhancements
- Network with other customers from various industries around the world
- Meet and influence the IBM team
You can find out more, register (if you haven’t already) and add any of these opportunities to your personal agenda by visiting the IBM Analytics University 2018 site.
Whichever sessions you decide to attend, join us at Analytics University and jam on!
