One year into a six-year project, the Port of Rotterdam has enlisted IBM, Esri, and Cisco to prepare for full-scale autonomous-ship port operations. The project includes combining IBM Watson™ IoT, IBM Research on AI, IBM Cloud, and weather data with geospatial data management, analytics, and visualization from Esri for the port’s digital twin and real-time situational awareness. The entire technology stack—from the sensor to the augmented, real-time, decision-making system connecting port operations and pilotless ships—is transforming the global port operations business.
