Attending VMworld 2018 in Barcelona? As you finalize your conference schedule, we’ve made a list of the Top Five sessions and activities you won’t want to miss. Don’t forget to put some time on your calendar to meet with IBM executives and SMEs as well.

1. IBM @ General Session

Tuesday, November 6, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Arvind Krishna, SVP of IBM Hybrid Cloud and Director of IBM Research, will take the stage with Pat Gelsinger, CEO of VMware, during the opening general session at VMworld Barcelona. Make sure to tune in to hear the latest IBM and VMware partnership news and see the latest innovations our clients are implementing.

2. FREESTYLIN’ THE CLOUD with IBM and skateboarding legend, Rodney Mullen

Wednesday, November 7, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Catch some big air and big ideas in this exclusive session featuring the “Godfather of Skateboarding,” Rodney Mullen. A thinker, a risk-taker, an artist, and a culture-maker, Rodney is one of the most influential skateboarders of all time.

We’ll explore open sourcing the creative process, the neverending quest for innovation, successful entrepreneurship, life as a skateboard champion, career pivots, and how to keep the work fun in the face of success, failure, broken bones, and changing cultural and business trends. You might even learn how to pop an ollie . . . or some new tricks and methodologies to apply to your own applications and creativity. C0-presented with Simon Kofkin-Hansen (skateboarding aficionado and CTO, IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions), please join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking session.

3. VIP client reception at SALT

Tuesday, November 5, 2018, 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Join us at SALT on Tuesday, November 5, for a beachside evening of drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Get the chance to mingle with your peers, chat with IBM SMEs and executives, and enjoy a great view.

4. Live art exhibit: Custom-painted skateboards

At the IBM booth (D309), we will be featuring a live art exhibit of hand-painted skateboards. The onsite skateboard painting will be performed by one of Mexico’s finest contemporary artists, Simon Cruz. In addition, we will be raffling off all the painted skateboards. Check this one out!

5. Attend IBM theater sessions for a chance to win great prizes

We’ll host 35+ mini sessions in the IBM booth, covering topics like cloud migration, disaster recovery and back-up, containers and Kubernetes, and more. These are great opportunities to interact directly with IBM subject matter experts, and, after each session, you’ll have the chance to win prizes like Apple watches, AirPods, and more. Stop by for one of our 10-minute chats for a chance to learn—and to win!
