Lock-in How Much You Spend with IBM Cloud – Try a Digital Subscription

Share this post:

An IBM Cloud subscription is a great way for you to lock in your monthly spend amounts and term commitments to save money. We’ve made upgrading your Lite account to a Subscription account easier. How? If you currently have an IBM Cloud Lite account you can easily upgrade to a subscription account directly through your IBM Cloud dashboard.

If you’ve test driven AI, machine learning, IoT, and database capabilities through IBM Cloud Lite, and you’re ready to unlock premium services such as containers and blockchain, then a subscription account is for you.

Why is this better?

Before today, the only way to upgrade your account to a subscription, was by calling the IBM Cloud team. Now, through a ‘digital’ subscription, you can upgrade your account via your dashboard without calling the IBM Cloud team. Starting at $100 USD for a 12-month term, your digital subscription helps you save thousands of dollars when you upgrade.

For example, if you project your monthly spend to be between $5,000 – $9,999 with a 12-month term, you could save 12% through a subscription. Of course your cost savings increase as your spend and term limits increase.

To recap, here are 3 reasons why you should upgrade your account:

  • Discounted pricing Lock in monthly spending and term commitments to save money.
  • Predictability Forecast spending by ordering more or less based on needs.
  • Simplification Upgrade account for immediate access to order against subscription.

Upgrade in 5 steps:

Step 1: In your dashboard, select billing on the left panel.

Step 2: Setup your subscription amount and terms.

Step 3: Review your payment schedule and charges.

Step 4: Setup your billing information.

Step 5: Finalize billing information and save money.

Pretty simple, right? Contact us if you have questions or sign in to your account to check out our FAQ.
