Mobile Analytics for Bluemix Now Generally Available

Share this post:

IBM Mobile Analytics for BluemixMobile Analytics for Bluemix is now generally available (GA) as a production-ready service on Bluemix. This service is for mobile app developers, business stakeholders, and data analysts who need to understand how their app is performing and being used.

Why do you need Mobile Analytics?

What can you do with Mobile Analytics for Bluemix?

  • App developers: You can monitor performance metrics such as crash rates and network requests. When you find a problem, you can troubleshoot by drilling down to app logs and stack traces. You can also create alerts to help discover problems early or create apps that take automated action.
  • Business stakeholders: You can see trends in users and sessions, and you can filter by time and platform to correlate with marketing events and activities.
  • Data scientists: You can set up a data pipeline to automatically feed data into a DashDB warehouse to customize views, aggregate data sets, and apply sophisticated analysis, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.

Getting started is quick and easy.

How is the GA service different from beta?

  • Unlike the beta service, which retained data for only 30 days, the GA service will retain data for at least 25 months.
  • While beta was free at any scale, the new service is free up to 100 million events, and very cost-effective thereafter.

Cool things to try

  • See for yourself how easy it is to get up and running by creating a new app from the Mobile Dashboard. With the flip of a switch, automatically create a Mobile Analytics instance and auto-generate your app code already instrumented for analytics. Here’s how.
  • Connect Mobile Analytics to the world of serverless computing. Set a Mobile Analytics alert to trigger an OpenWhisk action. Here’s how.
  • Pipe your data to DashDB and customize your analysis. Visit the Export section of your Mobile Analytics console for more information.

We need your input!

You can help shape the future of Mobile Analytics for Bluemix. Try Mobile Analytics today, and share your comments and wish list items below or in our developerWorks forum for Bluemix.
