Hangout: Hot topics for blockchain at IBM InterConnect 2017

Share this post:

Blockchain is on the brink of becoming one of the most transformational transactional technologies this year and will be a major topic next week, 19 – 23 March, during IBM InterConnect 2017 in Las Vegas.

What was once billed as the future of the internet, is now a current reality with many institutions already transforming their digital structures through distributed ledger solutions based on blockchain. The awareness of blockchain technology is growing at a rapid pace, but many still have lingering questions. Experts at InterConnect can provide the answers.

What do blockchain experts think will be the hot topics at InterConnect?

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with two key members of the blockchain team who will be in Las Vegas next week to get a sneak peek on what to expect. Romi Datta with IBM and Alex Rosen with IT People Corporation gave amazing insights from two important perspectives on where blockchain will touch people’s lives: in development and in enterprise solutions.

What’s your potential blockchain ROI?

Here are some of the questions I asked:

  • Where is blockchain in the “hype cycle” right now?
  • What is The Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger Fabric and how is it related to blockchain and IBM Blockchain?
  • What is this new thing called Fabric Composer?
  • What is the purpose of the new website FabricsNetworks.com?
  • Which InterConnect sessions are “can’t miss” and what are the top things people should do next week?
  • What sessions and activities are you participating in and what are the key takeaways?
  • What are some of the big announcements around blockchain that we can expect to hear next week?
  • How can people get in engaged with blockchain activities, topics and experts at the conference?

Watch the Google Hangout I hosted live on 16 March 2017 at 2 PM EST to see what they had to say:

How can you get the most out of the blockchain experience at InterConnect? If you’re headed to Las Vegas this week, stay in the know with your guide to everything blockchain at InterConnect. For a full list of sessions, head over to the IBM Ask Watson Sessions Expert. If you’ve already registered, you can download the IBM mobile events app to plan your complete conference agenda. The app is available on iOS and android.

If you can’t make it all the way to Vegas to see these blockchain demonstrations and discussions unfold, fear not. IBM is sending a team of blockchain experts to serve as your on-the-ground liaisons throughout the event.

You will have access to:

  • Real-time coverage of speaker sessions
  • Keynote addresses
  • Facebook live sessions
  • Live-tweet sessions for all your questions

They’ll also be providing behind-the-scenes access to put you at the center of the conference’s most intriguing talks and demos.

I eagerly anticipate what should be another successful technological celebration, and I can’t wait to see what new insights innovators from around the world will bring to the conference spotlight.
