Question: Is there a one to one relationship between an IBM certification exam and an IBM certification?

Answer:As a general rule, the answer is yes. However, not always. Some certifications require that multiple exams be taken and passed in order to earn the certification.

Question: How can I find a list of available IBM exams that lead to IBM certifications?

Answer:Go towww.ibm.com/certifyand click on the “Test” tab. In the left-hand column you will find a list of the exams.

Question: Where can I find a list of the IBM certifications, and how can I discover which exam(s) must be taken in order to earn a specific certification?

Answer:Once again, go towww.ibm.com/certifyand click on the “Test” tab. In the right-hand column, find the certification (link) in which you are interested and click on it. Scroll down to the end of the page that appears and you will find a list of one or more exams required for that certification.

Question: How do I prepare for taking an exam?

Answer:Test preparation suggestions are provided for each exam. To review those suggestions and peruse any associated materials, go towww.ibm.com/certifyand click on the “Test” tab. In the left-hand column click on the exam in which you are interested. Click on the “Test Preparation” tab and you will be presented with one or more resources suitable for review in preparing for the associated exam.

Question: How do I find out things like how many questions are on an exam, what the passing score is, and how much time I have to take an exam?

Answer:Go towww.ibm.com/certifyand click on the “Test” tab. In the left-hand column click on the exam in which you are interested. You will be immediately directed to the “Overview” tab which includes the aforementioned information.

Question: What is the best way for me to determine if I’m qualified to take a particular exam?

Answer:Go towww.ibm.com/certifyand click on the “Test” tab. In the left-hand column click on the exam in which you are interested. Click on the “Objectives” tab and you will be presented with a list of the Objectives and specific tasks from which the questions were written. You will also be presented with information to help you understand which topics are more heavily weighted on the exam in order to better determine where to focus the bulk of your preparation.
