Accessibility Engineer, IBM Accessibility Research
Sharon Snider is an Accessibility Engineer for the IBM Accessibility Leadership Team in IBM Research. She believes that making web content accessible is an important aspect of development and test to ensure inclusion for all users. Sharon’s first position at IBM was in 1998 as the Accessibility Focal Point and team lead for IBM’s Linux Technology Center where she was first introduced to the Linux Open Source community. She contributed accessibility-related guidance to the Free Standards Group, which is now part of The Linux Foundation, and The Linux Documentation Project. Currently, she has been researching new technologies and frameworks to find ways to integrate accessibility into the development process and contribute those findings to IBM developerWorks Open: Va11yS project.
