Today’s business climate requires a new level of agility, security and a “do more with less” culture to deliver against one of the most important challenges ahead of us – sustainability. Therefore, I am so proud that the IBM Power10 family of servers is finally complete. They are setting a new level in the market and come with innovations and capabilities that can help our clients stay ahead of their competition in the industry.

The Power10 product family is all about value. They are designed to deliver hybrid cloud solutions running the most demanding workloads in the most economical way. There is something for every client here. What is your favorite attribute? To me, it is our leading sustainability advantage. While others talk about producing green energy for cloud datacenters, Power10-based servers are designed to reduce electricity needs helping to reduce the carbon footprint. This is real innovation.

Critical in the launch of the expanded Power10 family is a robust ecosystem of Independent Software Vendors and Business Partners to build hybrid environments, connect mission-critical workloads to the cloud, and maximize value of existing infrastructure investments. We now have a great opportunity ahead of us to modernize clients’ environments with Red Hat’s portfolio as we take them to Power10. It will all be about having the right technical skills, so I encourage all of you to study our Power10 enablement material and build your own success plan that includes modernization content in every project.

Below is a great quote from our Ecosystem partner Mainline Information Systems that exemplifies the solutions our partners are building on Power10 :

“The IBM Power E1080 met the requirements of many of Mainline’s EPIC, SAP HANA, and Oracle clients,” said Eric Mann, Mainline Executive Vice President of Sales. “Our Power clients now look forward to seamless upgrades from Power8 and Power9 systems to the significantly increased performance, reliability, clustering, and hybrid cloud capabilities that we expect the new Power10 scale-out and midrange systems to offer at price/performance levels we have not seen before.”

Let me give you a summary of the servers we are announcing; the Power S1014, Power S1022, Power S1024, and the Power E1050, the systems your clients have been waiting for and asking you about. These new systems can help your clients create business agility with a flexible and secured infrastructure for hybrid cloud with memory encryption at the processor level. Learn more about each new server below.

IBM Power S1014

The IBM Power S1014 is a 1-socket, 4U Power10-based server for IBM AIX, IBM i, and Linux workloads, and has on average 57% more performance per core and 20% more memory bandwidth compared to the Power S914 [1]. Reduce physical data center footprints and help your clients lower their cooling and electrical costs by doing more with less. The Power S1014 is ideal for IBM i, Oracle Database SE, AI inferencing, and more. Learn more about the Power S1014 and tour a virtual demo here.

IBM Power S1022

The IBM Power S1022 is a 2-socket, 2U server for IBM AIX, IBM i, and Linux workloads, and has on average 37% more performance per core and 2.4X more memory bandwidth compared to the Power S922 [2]. It is available in either a single chip model, the Power S1022s, or dual chip model, the Power S1022. The Power S1022 is ideal for distributed computing, DevOps, dev/test environments, and more. Learn more about the Power S1022 and tour a virtual demo here.

IBM Power S1024

The IBM Power S1024 is a 2-socket, 4U server for IBM AIX, IBM i, and Linux workloads and has on average 33% more performance per core and 2.4X more memory bandwidth compared to the Power S924 [3]. With double the number of cores compared to Power9-based servers, clients can lower their cooling and electrical costs by consolidating more workloads onto fewer servers. Users can also further optimize and reduce costs by taking advantage of flexible consumption models and only paying for what they use. Learn more about the Power S1024 and tour a virtual demo here.

IBM Power E1050

The IBM Power E1050 is a 4-socket rack server optimized for data-intensive applications and hybrid cloud deployments. Enhanced security with transparent memory encryption and production-ready AI at the point of data helps enable faster insights for clients. Scaling is consistent across private and public cloud environments with flexible consumption options for users. Learn more about the Power E1050 and tour a virtual demo here.

Help your clients modernize applications to maximize value from their data, protect their infrastructure to help defend against attacks, and automate operations to improve productivity with Power10. How IBM® and Esri are working together to map a more sustainable future

Businesses today have greater responsibility than simply making profits; they have a role to play in ensuring our planet remains livable for generations to come. Each year, we collectively release over 50 billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, up 40% from 1990. Of these emissions, roughly 80% come from real estate, industry and transportation. If we’re going to succeed in sustainable development, actions must involve business owners. And businesses are responding. According to a 2022 survey of 3,000…

How technology can help save our water supply

A 2021 United Nations report finds that 2.3 billion people live in water-stressed countries which, according to the World Health Organization, is expected to be exacerbated in some regions due to climate change and population growth. To sustain lives on Earth, we must protect the health of its water resources and be efficient in our consumption, including minimizing waste in water distribution. These tasks involve a variety of equipment, assets, and people, and at IBM, we have deep experience in…

The future of fashion is fashionably transparent and sustainable

Today’s shopper is eminently conscious and willing to pay a premium for sustainable, conscious fashion that helps make a positive contribution to the environment and promotes fair labor practices. Choosing a gorgeous dress in the perfect color and style is even more satisfying when it comes as a by-product of sustainable and well-intentioned production. In fact, Gen Z are not only poised to drive the momentum even further towards sustainable shopping, but they are also influencing older generations to similarly…

CFOs are the new ESG storytellers

Ready or not, here they come. Mandatory regulatory disclosures regarding environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are on the horizon for businesses everywhere. Governments worldwide have already adopted reporting requirements aligned with recommendations by the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), including those in Canada, Brazil, the EU, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and Switzerland. Additionally, the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act went into effect in January 2023. In the US, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)…
